and speaking of beautifully illustrated type...







Wayne White does this sort of thing quite well. He buys cheap prints from thrift stores and then paints over the top, inserting his typography into the scene. I'd say it's "seamless", but it's big distorted 3D type sitting in pleasant, banal landscapes, so no, it's not seamless. There are definite seams. But the type just sort of fits in. His work first came to my attention years ago when I first started listening to the music of Lambchop. White has done quite a few record covers for them, including the above "Nixon" painting.
